Mission of Hope is the ministry that has been hosting us for the last 6 weeks as we’ve been in the DR. They provide us with food and a place to stay, and we’ve been beyond blessed to work beside them in what God is doing!
October 23rd-27th
We’ve had opportunities to bless many different communities in the DR, different ministries, different churches and pastors, and so many people that we’ve encountered. But, after serving God and pouring into all those people and places, we wanted to take an opportunity to bless Mission of Hope who has been blessing us since day one! They have a large campus and an amazing staff that takes care of it, but there were lots of projects that they needed help completing.
We did a large variety of things all week! We organized some of their storage spaces to make them more accessible and usable for the groups that come through. We cleaned up a lot of trash from around the campus. We built some bunk beds and painted all the tables we eat at. We deep cleaned many different rooms and spaces, and a group even used Machetes to cut the grass! The biggest project this week was building a fence around one of the Staff’s houses, for their pet dog Chance! The projects I was a part of were the fence building, the organizing, and the trash cleanup!
Sadly, I started the week sick again, so I didn’t get to be a part of the ministry until Wednesday. Praise God though for the Doctor that works here at Mission of Hope! His nave is Rovi, and he has been one of the biggest blessings ever!!
It was overall a great week and it was so fun to do all these projects!
Prayer Requests:
-Pray that God would continue to invade all our hearts as we step into the last 2 weeks of ministry
-Pray for our overall health as a group, both physically and mentally
-Pray that we would all continue to be present with what God is doing in these next couple of weeks and that our hearts and minds would be set on the things he is doing here.
-Pray that Mission of Hope would continue to grow and the Lord would continue to work through them in the future!
